How I entered the stock markets

How I came to stock markets:I hail from the suburbs of west bengal from a small town called hooghly.Parents from these part of the world are very apprehensive about their children"s future and mine one of being no exception. My dad always had a fetish to a pinkish paper called "The Economic Times" or simply "ET".It was actually taken to meet couple of ends:1)To satiate the corporate world knowledge of my sweet&supportive dad and sencondly so that I can learn and speak in fluent english. Now At that point of time I was hardly 13 or 14 with least interest in the english subject itself. One day after some harsh words from ma dad for my deliquency I opened the paper and incidently I started rolling the paper from end to front. In the meantime the stock quote page got opened and it looked like sums from my point of view. There were so many lines and stuff like that,I went straight to my dad to ask about these and he having the basic knowledhe always, helped me to get aware of the name "stock market" and stock prices.I was on class 7 at that time and its like I awake from my sleep and first thing which I would do would be to look at all the stock quote prices. These way, I got to know the names of companies like hind lever, colgate, ranbaxy, infosys, wipro, bata all the names which were quoted bigtime even in those days.Slowly I learnt about volumes,PE,eps,52 wk high/low and several stuff.

My first investment in wellwin industry:My dad inherited some shares of my grandpa so he was the one to guide me about all the stuff that I mentioned above. He always had the interest but due to his immense work pressure, he had time constraints and therefore cudnt allocate much time to our stock markets. One day I told my dad that its enough,I have learnt a lot and have zeroed upon a company called "wellwin industry".Dad use to operate under an ICICI direct account and I got the permission to use it on his behalf. Some money were there in the account and I Bought 100 shares of wellwin industry at 22rs.Luckily after some 3-4 days Wellwin iched up to 23 odd and to my sheer excitment and pleasure I booked the profit. It was like I made 45 bucks after paying all the taxes and brokerages that got levied.I was so damn happy, hugging my parents and budies all the day.I was 14 years old then, so in these way I made my first income from the stock markets.

Peoples" apprehension and sarcasm:Though dad was supportive to me but he always made sure that I was away from it.He used to speak a quote time and again,"You should watch stock markets from a distance, learn it but never plunge into it".A computer was there in ma house but affording a net connection for whole day was bigtime expenses.I with my excitment used to surf wholeday about stock markets reward being getting daily spanking and blows from my dearest parents. Some relatives of mine started exchanging words like this stock market is a shit of a place where only one can loose. They had the experiene in stock markets and since they were my superiors, I kept numb all the time consuming all the stuff spoken by them.I even got underestimated bigtime but I always had the beleif and conviction to learn from it,to see the end,to explore the vast potential,to be the winner where people loose.

An horrendous bear phase and my confidence shattered:In 2002-2003,It was the time for the bears to chill.Whatever I bought those got pounded after that.I bought counters like Kec international at 13 assuming its the least and the next day it falls to 12.11rs followed and after some days to my huge surprise it fell to a level of 8rs.I panicked and along with some more counters I did basket selling(selling all stocks at one go).My dad gave me huge blows and houled by saying I have commited a huge blunder. At that point of time neither I had money, nor any support,i was bunking my school"s classes and a mix of all made my life like hell.I got dejected, depressed and I can recall I had so many sleepless nights. It was decided that net connection would get cut off and thus I can only surf from cybercafes which on those days were charging 60-70 bucks per hour.Imagine a guy of 14-15 with no confidence and money-Things went on like these until the next phase came.

My big income of 1000rs:At 15-16 I thought lets give tips to people and by that way I would earn.People were like ridiculing me,my knowledge,my dilligence and my confidence main hindrance being my tender age. After several days of hard working a kind guy subscribed my intraday tips and I was paid 1000 bucks. After that whatever tips I provided all hit the stop losses and that man was so pissed off he discountinued the service after checking the same for just 4-5 days. But I had his money which he didnt ask for. With that 1000rs today(I have recently turned 20 years of age) my portfolio stands tall at a decent respectable figure(even after a 50% market fall to the sensex high of 21200).I have already written a lot and maybe I would pen down the latter part when I get more time.Hope you enjoyed the part and would be supporting me as always just like you guys are doing now.
