State bank of India:-Bharosha hain

Scripscan:State Bank of India
Traded in:Nse-bse

Story:SBI provides banking, treasury and credit management services to individual and corporate clients. To tell you the truth,I dont like meddling with banking stocks.Casa accounts,NII,npa,p/bv ratio the valuation methodology which are required to ascertain the true valuation never contempts me.And above all the above mentioned bank is a Govt baby,Ever seen a Govt employee getting dilligent? No would be my answer since my great grandfather was one of the prime servants of the bank but he never had any pressure nor he worked meticulously. It would be inappropriate to look at a single case but trust me folks I have got more relatives and they arent exceptional too.So as far I am concerned,Govt servants seldom works for their respective firms.Coming back to SBI what fasicanted me was its one word stamp,"The safe heaven".Under the present recessionary condition where people and corporations are facing immense liquidity crunch,Jobs are getting slashed, productions are getting cut but still Sbi amazes one with a decent advance tax payment and a robust 2nd quarter number. As you all are aware,State Bank of India is the largest bank of the country and valuation wise too its going pretty cheap with fair value estimates of nearly 1600rs while cmp being 1100 odd. With present stock marklet environment being so horrendous several renowned scrips would lack volume bigtime,No such probs with SBI as it will always find good time buyers. At present prices its a great bargain with chances of ones money getting doubled in a couple of years time.Hardly much downside risks and to me,"These asset is a must have in anyones core portfolio".A great great buy.
