Himalya International Ltd:Future growth prospects and outlook,buy/hold/sell?picks from food processing sector

Scripscan:Himalya International Ltd

Story:More than the company,I am actually interested in the Sector(FOOD processing) in which it is operating.I firmly believe that next emerging sector in india would be Food processing industry.(Just like Retail, realty and IT was few years back)I think Manmohan singh has identified the potential in this sector. He has taken all the suitable steps in this regard. It all started during his last tenure. But, the progress is happening at very slow pace.He has encouraged more FDI money to come into this sector.I did some home work and identified few good food processing industries.Even, rakesh jhunjunwala has some stake in food processing industry(vadilal industries and agrotech foods).I think even he has identified the potential in this sector.Himalya International under the stewardship of Man Mohan Malik is surely a producer of highly above average products but is clearly floundering about the brand building and has to pull up its socks soon. For one thing, all packaging, which doubles up as advertisements for all products from Himalya only mentions the ingredient part of the foods being sold and about how it`s the freshest food in the market.Currently, the company is beginning another factory in northern Gujarat. This added capacity will help Himalya International to up the ante and supply to newer markets which will be created with heightened demand. Demand is sure to result from the public relations that this company is creating for itself with new agencies and professionals that the company is hob-nobbing with right now.Currently, between numerous trips from Paonta Sahib to New Delhi to the United States and Europe, Man Mohan Malik is trying to put the fabric of the beginnings of a sturdy company in place so that the customer keeps coming back all the time to the same good taste.Himalaya international is making some good progress in this regards earlier they tied up with reliance fresh to sell some of it`s products to them, they also have a tie up with walmart.Recently they have signed an agreement with the Gujarat government to set up an agro-food processing export-oriented unit in the Mehsana district. The company will invest Rs140 Crore for setting up the unit. The new facility will focus on processing a wide variety of specialty milk products like Mozarella sticks. It will also process mushrooms, frozen food appetisers namely spanish onions, Jalepenoes and seedless egg plant. Himalaya will be allotted 100 acre for this purpose. The company expects to commence commercial production in the second-half of 2010.Himalaya also has signed an agreement with leading US based grocery chain company ALDI to sell its products under Himalaya Fresh.Bennett colemon too has taken some stake in the company. All these developments are expected to catapult the company in the next league. At rs 30 odd if all its plans and developments materliazes it certainly posses the ability to be a stunner of a scrip.Am not sure about the pedigree quality but who knows with time and robust numbers things can change for good, bigtime good.
