Story:ALSTOM Projects India Limited operates in the power generation and transport sectors primarily in India. The company has two segments, Power and Transport. The Power segment engages in the engineering, procurement, and construction of power plants. It also manufactures steam raising plant, ancillary equipment, pressures vessels, and pulverizers. The Transport segment involves in designing, manufacturing, supplying, and supporting large scale transportation systems, including traction, signaling, and train control. It also designs, produces, and installs infrastructure for the rail network; and provides turnkey solutions for light rail transit and tramways, conventional metros, automatic driverless systems metros, very high speed railways, intercity rail systems, and freight railways. In addition, this segment manufactures trams, metros, commuter trains, intercity trains, very high speed trains, tilting trains, locomotives, and subsystems; and caries out renovations with technology upgrades and short or long term maintenance of fixed installations for rail networks. ALSTOM Projects India has a joint venture with National Power Thermal Corporation to undertake renovation, modernization, retrofit, and refurbishment of old and ageing power plants.Investors can consider adding the stock of Alstom Projects India to their portfolio with a 2-3 year perspective.
