Story:Before I proceed on with my reasons to buy Talwalkars heres something for you folks.Over the last 9 years in equity markets(spending 14-15 hours a day) I have had the pleasure to watch both sides of the coin,i.e,bull and bear markets.Sensex had a roller coaster ride going boom boom to hit 21000 levels from 3000 in a matter of 5 years before collapsing back to below 8000 levels couple of odd years ago. From my experience what I have gathered is stock market is a funny place to be in,a place where one can make massive money provided he stays for the long haul.New themes, unconventional business model always gets to be the fancy of our markets.Educomp made immense money for the shareholders(200crs mcap to 8000crs mcap in few years)and the very recent Jubilant foods which multiplied 3-4 times in less than 15 months. They were and are exorbitantly valued but as we say quality would never come cheap and stock market has got a habit of keeping unique ones overvalued for ages. Here we go,"Talwalkars Better Value Fitness is a "health and fitness" company having 100 health clubs across the country. The company's health clubs offer services such as gym, spas, aerobics and health counselling by trained staff".Given the low penetration of health and fitness clubs, the company's business has good growth prospects. Its net sales have grown at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 60% since FY06 to reach Rs 66 crore in FY10. Its profits have grown at a CAGR of 108% since FY06 to hit Rs 8 crore at the end of FY10.It also recently unveiled a new segment of health clubs under the 'HiFi' brand that would sit alongside the existing 'Talwalkars' chain of gyms.'HiFi' gyms to be launched in the Tier III towns and beyond to cater to the middle income population at reasonable prices; these would sport all the key facilities of existing health clubs such as imported equipment, generator back up, personal trainers etc.I believe HiFi gym is an attempt to expand deep in to the Tier III towns and increase membership by offering a sort of “no frills” gym facilities. In more simple words am suggesting Talwakars today because of our new craze of being fit.Lets explain in most simple words-A teenager would be in a gym to have a stunning physique so that he can impress on his girl,an young corporate executive would make it to the gym in weekends to have some relief from stress, the middle aged ones may fancy it to lead life longer and the old retired ones with all the leisures and money in world would be desperate to have that soothing oil massaged SPA and stuff like that.Amazing isnt it?Just have your logic rite and you can earn millions.Talwalkars is targeting 500 gyms by 2015 from the current 100 ones and they should achieve that comfortably.Anyways they should do 18rs earnings for fy13 which at present price discounts it by 13 times. It would also be prudent to note that it has got a "brand" and markets pays superior valuations for branded businesses. At 237rs its something which one should own for huge returns in the coming months and years.
